Lovely Little GirlA Poem by Sarah W. French....
You see a lovely, little girl.
She is quiet only speaking when completely necessary. She doesn't walk, she runs to her next class. Her short hair says, 'I am a lesbian'. You assume she doesn't hear your lies. Her pink checks say, 'I am embarrassed'. But in truth it's the anger she can't hide. You see this little wisp and take note of each misstep. Not seeing the work she puts in each morning to be perfect. Not caring about the bitten lips. Weak she may appear but that is a lie. She knows her battles, picking them well. No marks on her arms, that would be a give away. No tear tracks on her face, for that would show it. All you see is a quiet bookish girl. But in truth she is a Dark One. Her soul is broken, blacked with your blood. © 2012 Sarah W. FrenchReviews
