You

You

A Poem by Sarah W. French
"

...

"
My head is pounding
with every word.
My heart is thumping
to every breath.
We can't be friends,
you break my heart.
We can't talk
you hurt my ears.

I spy you walking,
I stop and stare.
What a cruel world
to know what you are.
You break bones
and I only watch.
I sing lullabies
and you kill.

Till death
do us part.
Till morning
do we wake.
For each day
brings a new
battle.
