Once Upon A Time

Once Upon A Time

A Poem by Sarah W. French

Once upon a time
i was young and unafraid.
Once upon a time
i was small and helpless.
Once upon a time
i saw myself as a fresh sheet of paper.
But now I'm burnt
unable too close my eyes.
My arms throb
from carrying you.
My hands are caked in blood
from doing your dirty work.
My back is over run with scars
from when i mess up.
Once upon a time
was a long time ago.
Now I'm evolved
and can see your lies
Now I'm to tired
to heal the world
I'm burnt out but not because of
me but because of you
Once upon a time
my life changed.
Once upon a time
You took my life
and made it yours.
