Teeth Tied

Teeth Tied

A Poem by Sarah W. French
"

...

"
My teeth are tied together
with rubber bands of steel.
My hands balled into fists
covered in my blood.
My feet are bare
caked in mud.
My eyes are bloodshot
and filled with tears.
My nails are bitten
to the core.
Please let me
be free.
I want to run,
to fly but i'm tied.
Trapped in a cage
of toys unwanted.
Condemned by parents
and doctor alike.
I need to grow up
but don't want to change.
Take off my chains, remove
the bands.
Set me free and watch me
Fly.

I was listening to Please Don't Make Me Love You from Dracula and the desperation in the singers voice combined with this desperation in the poem was absolutely lovely and saddening.
