Goodbye Is Never Easy

Goodbye Is Never Easy

A Poem by Sara

I looked through your eyes

And saw right through you.

I cant stand to watch you cry.

What you've done to me

Makes me laugh, but I cry as I fall asleep

This isnt what I wanted it to be.

Goodbye is never easy.

So wrong, it's so wrong.

Needing you is like treading water,

I know I need it, but I can only stay here for so long.

You blame yourself,

Which at times is necessary.

Goodbye is never easy.

Now there's nothing you can do;

Don't bring the world down on you

The sun is still going to shine

And the rain will still hit the rooftops.

Gravity pulls us down until we come to a stop,

And our own emotions pull us in different directions.

Goodbye is never easy.

Maybe it wasnt meant to be

And maybe I could hold you in my arms

But I need more than what you give me,

As hard as that is to say.

The stars and the moon will still light up the night sky

And my heart will always hold you high

Goodbye is never easy.

Wow. That was beautiful. It was clear it was over- but the lack of bitterness and blame is what made it so wonderful. It is so easy to connect with and beautiful. It is hard to tell someone it is over- no matter what the circumstances. Your way with words is also just astounding- you really have a great flow to it that makes your pieces so captivating. Great job

Sincerely,
Miss Carmine

Very seldom in life do we see a relationship come to an end without bitterness or ill feelings, and perhaps that is what makes this piece stand out; there are no ill feelings, there is no bitterness. The relationship is coming to a close, and despite how difficult it is to say goodbye, it has been a learning experience and you have seen that you need more than what this relationship has to offer you. It is hard to say goodbye, but sometimes we must to grow, for it is through experience we come to learn about ourselves. We can only hope when the time comes that we muster up the courage to say goodbye that the other person walks away having gained some knowledge of who they are and what they want from a relationship as well. Very well written, there is so much that can be said about this poem, and it leaves so much to ponder and to think about. Bravi, you have done an exceptional job with this piece.

beautiful in many ways
awesome write, you are a very talented writer
keep it up ;)

only hopefully it won't have to be goodbyes, or losing loved ones
(though they make the best writes I think)

Lovely. Goodbyes are never easy, and you've hit on exactly why. The pain, the confusion, the feel of being stuck, and the knowledge that life does go on. I quite like it. Others have mentioned the lack of bitterness, and I see that, too. I like that, as often times there isn't any bitterness, just sadness and the need to begin again. :)

what i like about this piece, is there is no bitterness, no blame. it is what it is, which is so often the case. sometimes, things just aren't going to be what you want them to be, and there isnt anything to do about that. goodbye is never easy, which might be why we so often want to find someone to blame, some reason for everything - when in the end - it just wasn't meant to be.
