Alone

A common word

A known word

But only those

Who have felt its touch

Truly understand

The pain

 

It’s a cage

Or window

That’s been shut

For eternity

Hiding its captives

From the beauty

From life

 

It holds despair in one hand

And agony in the other

Its wears joy

But keeps it just out of reach

Creating

Unbearable longing

And unbreakable hopelessness

 

But there is a light

And the end of every tunnel

For even loneliness

Cannot hide

Forever

 

This light is unconditional

Its gives freely

To all who seek it

 

But that is the key

Its is not given

It must be found

 

You must chose it

Chose to let it

Light up your life

And fill your soul

With love

 

Find the light

Let it fill your soul

For love

Can ignite the stars

 

 

 

Author's Note

the last stanzas, are what God's Grace means for me, how even those closest to the darkness can feel his love if they chose to open thier hearts

I am Christian... We are not lonely believe it or not but this is how you interpret it. Wait maybe I am reading your Author's Note wrong. Oh well, I loved the poem, though! It was terriffic. I love how you go in depth about being alone. The joy around just seems to tease you. Very nicely written! Keep up the good work!
