Spherical Sense

Spherical Sense

A Poem by Sara
"

observing

"

Your eyes are round and deceive you they must,

For the view you have of the world will combust.

It isn’t real, and is cheap as firewood.

The spherical sense is the dense speech of childhood.

Your ears are wide and they cry out in lies

The whispers surround you but you hear only sighs

The truth of matter can’t fight past the crowd

Of voices that plague and have swallowed all sound.

And lastly, of course you have worn your lips thin

The tastes that you seek are abused deep within

They cower and hide from your hunger until

Their fear only serves to make the devourer ill

Interesting piece. If I am understanding it, it speaks of going through life with blinders on and when the blinders come off it won't be pretty. That is what I got out of it anyway. Good write.
