VerbatimA Poem by Saraletter to a friendPlease don’t cry, Dear. I can hear your struggle for breath. Don’t forget that everyone Shall someday witness death. One day soon, Dear, You’ll forget the stabbing pains you feel. Trust me, I have waited For my own pains to heal. Maybe you, Dear, Will transform loneliness to cheer And mean all the difference To someone who is near. And if you, Dear, Hadn’t felt your pain today They might never have known the love That you graciously portray. Please don’t cry, Dear. He’s not worth the tears you spend. Love is such a valuable thing, Yet it is so easy to bend. Watch the time, Dear. If you waste it on the past, You’ll miss out on what is coming And is surely soon to pass. Close your eyes, Dear. Don’t follow what they say verbatim. Destiny awaits you. Trust me, you aren’t going to need him.
