Embracing Mother Earth

Embracing Mother Earth

A Poem by Sara Lynn
"

Earth Day Poem with revised version as well

"
Life is filled with beautiful things
Trees of red, orange, yellow, and green
Skies of blue, purple and pink
Mountains that make jaws drop

What have we done?
Will the beauty always be there?
Can we learn how to appreciate the love of mother earth?

The energy that flows around us
Magnifies our perspective
Humans and other species
Souls passing through life

I hear mother's voice crying out
Let's bring her peace
Show her respect
We should hold her hand
Feeling her warm embrace

~ Written by Sara Lynn ~

REVISED VERSION:

Life is filled with beautiful things
Trees of red, orange, yellow, and green
Skies of blue, purple and pink
Mountains that make jaws drop

The energy that flows around us
Magnifies our perspective
Humans and other species
Souls passing through life

I hear mother's voice crying out
Let's bring her peace and show respect
Holding her hand brings
The warm comfort she reflects

Look in the eyes of Mother Earth
Bring our hearts forth
Take the beauty within this creation
Embrace the appreciation

I really like that you posted the original AND the revised version of this poem, I like both of them because they hold an important message that needs to be heard. Humans, as residents of mother earth, should show her respect for providing us a place to call our own. Not burry our trash under her skin.
It's lovely how your appreciation for nature brightly shines throughout this poem, that within itself makes it beautiful :)

Such a well written piece. You have connected nature with our everyday lives. You have made nature feel like a thing that can not be separated from us. I really liked this phrase 'Mountains that make jaws drop'. You have created a deeper meaning and connection with nature. Transformed simple things like the sky into this awesome piece of poetry.

Extremely well written, and I really like the message you are conveying in this. The world really needs to hear that message more often than it currently does. Your creativity and writing ability are both explicitly stated in this poem. The imagery you used, like "Life is filled with beautiful things
Trees of red, orange, yellow, and green, skies of blue, purple and pink, mountains that make jaws drop" really paints a gorgeous scene in my mind. Superb job, keep striving to be as original as you can be! :)
