The Wretched

The Wretched

A Poem by SaraJayne96

She sits alone
Holding it all inside
Trying to push it away

She breathes in
Breathes every bit in
Knowing she can't breathe it all out

She hides her fears
Gives the impression
Everyone needs to endear

She accepts her fate
Falling to the cold ground
Waiting for the moment she's found

She smiles on her own
Without fear of broken pride
She was able to keep wretched at bay

This stuns and cuts and bleeds, words so filled with anxiety and pain. What a dark place to have to cling to, just on the edge of existence. Overwhelming.
