Prayers Unanswered

Prayers Unanswered

A Poem by SaraHelena

With every waning breath,

Comes everlasting death,

And as the death comes near,

So falls the empty tear.

And in the dark we pray,

For every living day.

This prayer cannot be answered,

And so each soldier falls,

Like pedals from a dying rose,

Growing from life's walls.

Another really good one. Seriously, you should consider being a poet and publishing your stuff! In this one, I think the real strength lies within the second verse, I just love the words that you write there...every soldier falls...I like that likening.
