Dance In The Rain

Life has its ups and downs but why not, dance in the rain while you can!

Looking at the bright sky

Rain clouds are starting to form

The sky deepens into a darker grey

As I await for the rain to fall

Droplets of rain feel onto my forehead

I saw the sun behind a cloud

Its ray only a shimmering dim

I took up my umbrella

But just realised that there is nothing but a mere breeze

And slight drizzles that fell from the sky

Soon the sun came up shining

The dark clouds faded away

I started smiling

Nature has its way of things

Giving way to the night and also day

Sometimes there will be rain 

And sometimes it will be sunny

Life too has its ups and downs

Sometimes it will be rough but sometimes it will be easy going

Happiness won't last but sadness doesn't either

With every dawn 

There will be dusk

With every passing darkness

There will be light

With every sorrow

There will be joy

With every difficulty 

There will be solutions

So dance in the rain

While you can

As you wait for the sunshine to come

And look forward 

For a brighter day to come

The evocative imagery of the season's contrasts reach a crescendo of the heydays of Romanticism; the writer is youthful and is poetic and lyrical in experiencing the passion of nature with a gift of love and fond newness. I feel sad and decadent when I read this poem and lament on the years that have made me older, no wiser, and yet myself.

Lyndy, I love the whole concept of this poem. Many people get stuck in the downswings of life, and don't appreciate their temporary nature. I, too, used to love to dance in the rain. A sunshining, softly falling rain is my favorite weather pattern in the world. Perfect for playing in the puddles and enjoying life. I really loved this piece. Great job!
