i know when it's a dream

Strawberry Fields Forever

Inside your body is a field of strawberries,
and I water it everyday.

The fragile leafy tendrils 
wrap around your spine, 
the budding fruit nestled
between 
each 
individual 
vertebrae.

Your tongue tastes of scarlet, 
tangs of acid. 
It leaves me happy, content, 
slightly shocked
like an infinity of summer days.

Inside me, you see rain,
replenished earth, the caressing
rays of the sun.
You look at me and see the sky,
endless and arching,
as everywhere as God.
