A Poem by Sara
"

where the heart is

"
Home

My sweet state,
I adore you
and your open plains.
Bluebonnets sway to
a country fiddle
as the eyes of all
are upon you.
Flat for miles
and hotter than hell,
I shan't never leave you,
your good ole boys,
cowboy boots,
slow talkin' and hard drinkin'.
For the mockingbird's cry
pierces my heart,
the rough-and-tumble
desert beauty
and wild winds
blow a spring tornado
through my veins.
In my sky, there's only
a lone star.

About
Hi! I'm just a simple college student from Texas who enjoys storytelling in all its forms. I'm quite shy, so I find writing much easier than talking since I don't have to put up with my usual stutteri.. more..
