Flying

Flying

A Poem by Sara
"

i'm like a bird, i wanna fly away

"

Flying

my pulse mimics the flapping of wings

the whoosh

the wind

of summer days

is under my weak limbs

i rise

heaven is below me

the human brain residing

enfolded and wet

is vaporized

i am finally, finally free

A very nice account of feeling the weight lifted and feeling liberated, It is evokative and very poignant in its brevity and eloquance. 90

This is a breath of a poem... I tried it, but gravity pulled me down.
Beautiful writing.

Very beautiful. Flying is the greatest form of freedom, to soar unrestricted and feel the wide open spaces around you. Absolutely beautiful. I particularly like the line "heaven is below me" it doesn't give off the prideful characteristics of "heaven is beneath me" and instead gives off this feeling that the narrator is flying in a state of bliss that is higher than what one could find in heaven, if it exists. Well done.

Scratch out the last line and you've got an awesome poem (in my opinion).

The reason being, the feeling of escape and freedom is indirectly implied in your previous stanza.

Keep it up ;)
