The Shining Light

The Shining Light

A Poem by Sunflower/Sara Kendrick
"

Just something

"

Unpaved road in deep wood

Those trees like soldiers stood

Draped in color of a g golden gown

The fall leaves worn as her crown

Looking ahead the road narrows

Glancing back a great horizon

How could he expect me to travel here

It is getting dark seeing only one step at time

One step ahead with strange sounds in those woods

Wild things are in there

Fear, where will I sleep

No food

Then ahead  a light

What is that light?

It is bidding me to come

Then surrounded in that precious light

With all fears dispelled

Warmth, love, home

I really like this, it speaks profoundly of the relief of finally getting home. Its fun to travel but there's nothing like coming home to hour own bed. Especially if the trip has been a hard one. This is excellent.

You took me back to my recent travels coming through the Avenue of the Giants where you’re surrounded by redwoods for me, this piece fit those memories. Thank you.
Excellent write.

You divide the light and darkness, the fear and the love, all so well... There is the journey we all face, and home is our ultimate desire.. that place where we can be ourselves without having to put up walls... the real home surrounded by light..
