Deep Into The Well

Deep Into The Well

A Poem by Sunflower/Sara Kendrick
"

Sonnet style but only nine syllable count..

"

Now sits the Mocking Bird in the tree

In the sky float clouds so light pastel, tan

Winter's end now gone__none too soon for me

Draws the inside time to end_play in sand

The child in me wants to escape outside

Refuse responsibility_be free

But then come the numbing_flowing of the tide

Then I feel the call back_what has to be

As sure as the granite rock doesn't change

Hasn't anything changed because God made me

To be like the Rose that buds each year same

As the Swallows go away and the bees

Seem to hibernate_the Phlox's root remain

My roots go down deep into the well__see
