A New Day

A New Day

A Poem by Sunflower/Sara Kendrick
"

Unrhymed, seven syllables,

"

It was far later than dawn

Even past those pastel morns

Sun being up and light bright'

Revealing all__no shadows____

The roosters had crowed before

Now were almost silent__still

Birds had quieted just rare chirps

In distance machinery noise

As I got comfortable

Noticed herbs looked wilted drooped

Checked to see if dry but not

They are totally potbound

Life__how many people are

Stuck_complacent_not growing

Soon will die from starvation

Just live a boring stuck life

Just one change___out of the rut

Going a different route__walk

Take a camera along

One change__life becomes___new____grand
