Behold The Prize

Behold The Prize

A Poem by Sunflower/Sara Kendrick

Whispy clouds blown by the wind

Stretched out across eastern sky

Colors changing from red to sand

Backdrop for buzzards soaring high

Catching the zephyr head on

Letting the breeze lift enjoy day

Let my spirit soar on the wind

Feel Holy Spirit's presence stay

The clouds chroma still changes

A kaleidascope of color

They have been influenced by sun

Let my spirit change to pleasing hue

As low cobalt clouds on horizon

Seem to be rising with the sun

Let me rise higher becoming

More golden, more loving, homespun

The golden sun peeks above clouds

Soon will be too brilliant for eyes

Will God's presence be so bright

That these eyes can't behold prize?
