Moon Dune

Moon Dune

A Poem by Sapph

Marram grass scratch.
Sun burnt skin.
Hair floating in the wind.
My chest feels heavy
As I watch the sun kiss the edge of the horizon.

Did I see you there?
Or are you merely a mirage
Dancing on the water.

It felt like a wrought iron bar to the head
When you disguised your inextricably yet sadly beautiful words.
I yearned for you to notice me, but I stand there, atrophic and flawed

Second best again.

You were dying to get inside my head
So you could know what to say to my melancholia
You are as malicious as the rest of them
Extracting my deepest thoughts and throwing them in a centrifuge
Filtering out what to use against me.

I felt I could forgive your idiosyncrasies
Each one was as intriguing as the next
However your ostentatious display of uncouth behaviour,
Your lies complacent next to my misjudged naivety
Served as a means to quash my hope
And run away

To the dunes.
My safety
Where I can escape once more.

Well cowards run away leaving their beloved in the mist shadow ... I must say a great literary work .... Too good describing the mental conditions of the sufferer/the jeopardized lover/the lone friend or for anyone suffering from bad relationships ... But escape is not the solution , you have got to resist or make that feeling as antidote to that condition

Beautifully worded with a high depth of imagery.

Well written!
