Fake Plastic Love.

Fake Plastic Love.

A Poem by Sapph
"

This is another experimental writing piece for uni - I cut up a load of Radiohead lyrics to make a poem - it's part of the assignment so I swear I am not deliberately plagiarising!

"
While you make pretty speeches,
I'm being cut to shreds.
I'm a heart in cold ground.

A pig.
In a cage.
On antibiotics.

I hit the bottom and escape.
There was nothing to fear,
Nothing to doubt.

And if I could be
All you wanted,
All the time.

It's all wrong
It's all right.

I am all the days that
You choose to ignore.
Your eyes, they turn me.

I don't wanna be your friend,
I just wanna be your lover.
Throw your keys in the bowl,
Kiss your husband goodnight.

My fake plastic love.
It wears me out.

Limb by limb
And tooth by tooth
It's tearing up inside of me.
How did you go bad?

I'll never see you again if
I squeal to the cops,
If you were a dog
They would've drowned you at birth.

Don't get any big ideas,
They're not gonna happen
Because we separate
Like ripples on a blank shore.

I want to be someone else or
I'll explode.
Phew, for a minute there
I lost myself

I lost myself.

Suck your teenage thumb,
Ambition makes you look
Pretty ugly.
The panic, the vomit.

I'm not here, this
Isn't happening.
I'm lost at sea
Crushed like a bug in the ground.

Rain down on me.

If you think this is over then
You're wrong.

Trying to make the lyrics have a narrative arc despite them being cut up and smashed together, make of it what you will.
