Wise

Wise

A Poem by Saphire Stridon-Traencendyis

Finally, stepping back

I’m numb, I’m wise;

I’m free of the chains

I’ve learned to let go,

And speak the language of this foreign world

Through all of the blood, sweat, and tears;

I can’t tear myself away.

I was inspired by you

You gave me hope

And brought change.

But don’t fall too far;

You’ll find yourself in a world of hate,

Fear, adrenaline, and disappointment.

I’m sorry I loved you

But that’s nothing to be sorry about

Is it?

I fear and wish away my wisdom

Simply because it’s hard to be wise.

Sometime we must temp fate. Wisdom can lead us to a boring life. I like this poem. You told a good story and the ending was outstanding. I agree with the last line. A excellent poem.
