I’m not in denial

Just listen to me carefully today

I never loved you

Even if some of my actions came across that way.

They were simply words

I don’t understand why they meant this much to you

Never intended for you to get so attached

Now that I’m walking away

I feel as if I’ve broken you into thousands of pieces

Like I’ve scarred you, scraped you, left a scratch.

Was I wrong?

Trying to make you believe something that wasn’t real

Maybe I should never have gone so far into this game

And told you how I really feel.

You’re different to me was the same,

Wasn’t anything new that I hadn’t already heard before

Guess I was lonely, but mistaking this loneliness for love

Is something you only have yourself to blame for.

I showed you my angelic side

Hid the dark side away

It was funny how you were so easy to fool

But I realised perhaps in some parts I did get too carried away.

Still makes me laugh today,

You’re portraying me negatively

But I never meant you any harm

I admit it was a mistake, I can clearly see the damage I have done.

I shouldn’t have any regrets, you knew how this would end

Realistically you need to get out of your illusion

And think how could I fall so fast and easily for you my friend?
