A Midnight Lamp

A Midnight Lamp

A Poem by Sanjeeta Sharma Pokharel "Hridayaninadini"
"

Against the storm of injustice and social evils

"
The fierce storm
Rustles at the roof
Sweeping away
the dreams
the desires
the destiny

The Wicked blocks of Cloud
Hovers around
Darkening the town
the fragile trance
the flooded tears
the faded tenacity

The odd hours of life
Bereaves the zest of
leading the self through
the panics
the pains
the pities

Amidst the dreary night
struggles the dim light
stamping out the Darkness
In the hamlet of life
On the casement of hope
Glows

A  Midnight lamp

Awesome...

My favorite lines:
"Amidst the dreary night
struggles the dim light
stamping out the Darkness
In the hamlet of life
On the casement of hope
Glows
A Midnight lamp"

Hope keeps us going in the most difficult situations of life. I would call it a beautiful dedication meant to increase faith and hope for the aspirants.

This is a really vivid poem that works on so many levels, multiple metaphorical levels as well as the literal scene. Love how you mix the metaphysical and literal images. Above all, the sonics, alliterative triads and rhymes are masterful. This is a very unique style from a well-realised voice. Glad I discovered you today.
