A Midnight Lamp

A Midnight Lamp

A Poem by Sanjeeta Sharma Pokharel "Hridayaninadini"
"

Against the storm of injustice and social evils

"
The fierce storm
Rustles at the roof
Sweeping away
the dreams
the desires
the destiny

The Wicked blocks of Cloud
Hovers around
Darkening the town
the fragile trance
the flooded tears
the faded tenacity

The odd hours of life
Bereaves the zest of
leading the self through
the panics
the pains
the pities

Amidst the dreary night
struggles the dim light
stamping out the Darkness
In the hamlet of life
On the casement of hope
Glows

A  Midnight lamp

Awesome...

My favorite lines:
"Amidst the dreary night
struggles the dim light
stamping out the Darkness
In the hamlet of life
On the casement of hope
Glows
A Midnight lamp"

Hope keeps us going in the most difficult situations of life. I would call it a beautiful dedication meant to increase faith and hope for the aspirants.

I loved the last line, a profound poetic expression, of an unjust system of things............so many questions so few answers, for greed corrupts man and man himself rules man to his injury.......Pro totus Infinitio

Oh, this poem bristles with hope amidst chaos and despair. So there is redemption after all. This is a beautiful piece. I don't know whether you have heard of him but this poem reminds me of the golden poetry of Kaifi Azmi, an Indian poet. Loved his one.

Dear Sanjeeta,

A very interesting poem. The first stanza really had me:

"The fierce storm
Rustles at the roof
Sweeping away
the dreams
the desires
the destiny"

This is clearly a mental storm not a storm of Nature. Yes, I see this, I understand this. Powerful words.

The last stanza is also inspired. This is wonderful work.

Very best regards! High marks.

every word placed aptly produced an subtle effect and made it a surreal poem. my favorite poem of yours until now. very well penned. keep glowing like that lamp cause there are people like me who see its brightness in this stromy world-- which tries to flicker us with its gust!

Wonderful write here. The dim light up to the harsh struggle of fending off the darkness with hope. Wonderful!
