Of the street and life

Of the street and life

A Poem by Sanjeeta Sharma Pokharel "Hridayaninadini"

I seek a bard, deep in me!
While on my voyage in the street!
With no argosy, confront where I,
A thousand of stories!
Limned on their face,
Thoughts as high as tides!
Some rough, some smooth,
Inhumed under their smiles,
Bestrewed pieces of  life,
I walk, reading them all!

Blithe, a few are not…
A few fulgent in their glory,
Gloomy some, as their shadowy past!
And a few whited sepulchres
With their phony chivalry!
And a few trysts that should never last!
I cherish, beholding them all!

Why I am happy?
Wondered never I,
When I am lost,
I find more of me!
Amidst these evanescent faces in the street…

i really like this...there is so much poetry in the streets...and many of the poor folks on street corners, in the alleys....begging for sustenance, they write very much with their eyes...their longing gazes...
their movement is rhythm and there is poetry in that...

What a common thought we poets have :) Thank you for sharing and appreciating my perception.

This is very clever, with loads of inverted questions that slow the reader down to enjoy the subtle, finely spun content. A poet I like and one I enjoy reading!

I love to wander too. See new places and try to befriend people.
