"When I was a child-
This moon was not still!
As it is now!
Trust me...
It ambled-
Along with me...
Up the hills-
Through the canopy-
And meandered in that stream-
But now-
I am no more a child!
And my moon-
(Sighs!)
Revolves around this earth!
Sadly, I can't blame-
this science-
That ruined my childhood fantasy!"
I understand- Science can sometimes change how we see the world, from the "moon ambling with me" or seeming to amble. sometimes it kind of flattens our perceptions. Well written poem, Sanjeeta. ps- as children, we would say that the Earth is not moving, and we are standing still, but the truth is quite exciting, really,- spinning at more than 100 miles/hour while moving at more than 18 miles/second! I for one, think that's pretty cool.

Old age steal from old dreams. The moon was the place we knew that was always waiting for us in the deep of the night. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
