Reyhaneh...

Reyhaneh...

A Poem by Sanjeeta Sharma Pokharel "Hridayaninadini"

A tribute to Reyhaneh Jabbari

            In that pool of tears-

She splashes her drenched lashes-

Washes out that stain

Of agony!

And galvanizes that smile

On her bruised lips…

Gathers her hairs…

Clips it with hope,

She is lost from-

Within!

And her happiness-

A lost child in a crowd!

She walks- brave!

On the adversity…

That rift in her heart-

Yet, another inspiration!

In that broken thread-

She beads the shattered dreams-

A wreath of her kind…

That savage caress-

On her leather-

Shall blow the bugle

Again!

            Her eyes-

Hence- heralds

Her spirit…

Determined!

I enjoyed the poem. It was direct and to the point. Woman must stand their ground and be strong. I taught my daughters to make their own money and don't depend on a man. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Like a herald calling to a new day ... a woman certainly creates the lead in the path of humanity ... by the birth of the new. Nice ...

A strong poem with a feminist feeling...like the one word last lines with exclamation marks, this shouts off the page, good idea in a fine poem.

Walking with heavy legs, being pulled back and dragging yourself against what life has thrown at you is a bravery of its own kind. Only thing is in this war you are all alone and trust may not always be reciprocated but a strong heat find its way amidst chaos. Enjoyed the read.
