Introspection...

Introspection...

A Poem by Sanjeeta Sharma Pokharel "Hridayaninadini"

I behold…

Leaning on this iron fence…

A butterfly…

Just flipped and whirled around

A flower,

…followed that wind...

And flew away…

To be never seen again!

I realized…

This sun shines…

And it always does…

The clouds assemble

And they disperse...

Things are on pace,

And they always were…

Yes, they always will!

And shall always be in this chain!

Except me!

Who walks in this present…

With this mind

Entangled!

In the tapestry of that past!

No wonder, this time!

For I know…

The memories, I am in

Won’t last!

When these memories,
Knock this door,
I let them in...
For they shall…

Accompany this loneliness!

They drag you

To the moments,

And the laughter, my folks

That shall never

Visit your home again!

Bereaving, though…

You cherish the unseen presence

That does exist!

In this yearning pain!

I want to travel back

To that time,

A decade ago and hence…

Just wish to be there

Forever…

For the time, I am in now!

Has no charm left behind…

Tell me,

This is just a mere dream,

When I shall wake up!

I will find you

Next to me!

I always tried to win

This loss!

But in vain!

…Away,I move…

Well "Author's Note" is the 1st things i read before i read poem/story/screenplay. This one is really painful and made me realised what is pain and how much it hurts.

Bereaving, though…

To describe the piece on one word would probably be, at least in my opinion: dreamlike. Perhaps reminiscent about the actual past or having dark nightmares.

Very true, Alan.
I liked the change of font color and the indentations you employed here. The artwork you have chosen to accompany your words makes the presentation even more special. The longing for what once was is palpable and the melancholy is so honest. Even memories that are unpleasant are part of who we are....and at times embracing them helps us move forward. I enjoyed this. Lydi**

You are welcome...:)
In the Japanese tea ceremony, the host at the end of the session, hands the ceramic kettle to be examined by the guest. As the quest looks at the stains, the chipped parts and shadows he realizes that such is a life lived. Nice one Sanjeeta.

this impress as a poetic dialogue, poetic duality, with fine imagery..

Thanks Leslie.
I quite liked this poem and how it seemed to talk, somewhat to the reader, more so to itself. The little beginnings of each stanza added to the feel of the poem; however, the use of so many exclamation points lessen the emotion brought on by the words. All in all though, nice work! ^^
