When you smile...

When you smile...

A Poem by Sanjeeta Sharma Pokharel "Hridayaninadini"

Dad, these distant stars,

Seems no far,

When you smile…

Your gentle pat,

A magic potion

Concocted this valiance in us

To face all the adversities

Of this adverse world!

Dad, these distant stars,

Seems no far,

When you smile…

We won all the battles of mind,

Of no weapon and no blood,

The armor of your words

Did not let those bullet in

Triumphant, we stood…

Dad, these distant stars,

Seems no far,

When you smile…

Just the sparkle of your brilliancy,

We…

Glimmer, here and glitter, there

To spread this euphoria,

Just to see your smile

Yes, these distant stars,

Seems no far,

When you smile…

Like this a lot. Of course, having daughters, I am a bit jaded. I do like the way this flows.

Thanks Michael.
I see that you struggled to choose just the right words but these do work.. and they have become, I think, a unique statement that is imminently assimilable. They resonate with a daughter's love. A beautiful Birthday gift for your father that honors each because you have accepted your parent's donations to your talent and woven them together; this 'togetherness' makes something special and enduring. What more could a father want for his birthday? A most excellent present! ^_^
