An effortless Artistry

An effortless Artistry

A Poem by Sanjeeta Sharma Pokharel "Hridayaninadini"

She dreamt of
That fairy-tale, again
And thought,
When she will fall in love,
Thousand of trumpets will blow,
And she will-
Let the entire world know,
About her love…
That she gifted her heart-
To the prince-
Who was, once, a frog!
To the prince-
Who was an ugly-beast!
To the prince-
Who was trapped-in-a mug!
That her tears-
Fell on him
That her touch-
Healed him…
And he turn-out to be
A handsome-prince!

She wished, again-
If she was a princess,
Trammeled in Witchcraft!
 And her hero-
Rustled on the sky
Roared-
Like a thunder-bolt
And broke the mirror-
Witch, hence, dead!
Set her free-
Lived happily ever after!
A happy-ending
Thought!
Protagonist’s triumph over villains!
Phew…
She knew-
It was just a thought-
An effortless artistry!
So,
She got up
And went for stroll…
She saw a frog-
Leaping and croaking in
A puddle…
Smiled, she
And moved further...

To borrow from the fairies the references to love is certainly a better way to speak of love than to borrow the references from the butcher. But do we think in borrowing from the fairies we apply less effort for its recovery?

Love begets love and it may appeal to us to do all that and to deal with the butchers of love with love. How else would one discover love?

We all have dreams of how it might be... This fairy-tale dream comes from a heart that needs to be cherished, a woman that needs to be truly loved... and the longing that somehow one day there will be a prince is an ache within...
