The Lost Paradise

The Lost Paradise

A Poem by PoeticVandal

I stand upon a barren hearth,
Which not so long ago
Was the site of lush green earth
As far as the eye can go

Trees tall of emerald green
Stood as sentries on the lake beach
The lake like a big blue opaline
That dazzled with a radiance beyond speech

Under my feet a velvety carpet of grass
Flowers of colours and shades i had never seen before
The beauty i witness at this paradise would surely surpass
All riches that man amassed since the days of yore.

What remains of this beauty
Nothing i tell you
For the pinnacle of God's creativity
Lies in melancoly blue.....

i LOVED those lines - so powerful. God created everything in beauty and he gve it to man to look after it - but now its in "melancholy blue".
and i loved the description you gave - of nature. a beautiful picture. well done !:D
