Blondes, Coffee, and Parents

Early the next morning Alex quietly slips out of the room leaving Anthony fast asleep. Not knowing where to go for a cup of coffee Alex decides to ask someone, spotting the nurses’ station he heads over. As he approaches he becomes aware that they are whispering.

"Oh my gosh he's so hot," says the blonde nurse

"Yeah so is his brother!" replies the red head

"Should I ask him out before they leave?"

"Why wait till then? Ask him the next time you see him."

Noticing Alex for the first time both nurses stifle giggles.

"Hi! How can we help you?" asks the blonde in a perky voice.

"Uh, hi. I was wondering where I could find a cup of coffee." replies Alex.

"Jesse can show you!" pipes the red head.

"Angela!" exclaims the blonde named Jesse.

"What? You can," counters Angela, "I'll be fine."

"Looks like I'm following you," says Alex as Jesse comes out from behind the counter.

Sitting down with their coffee Jesse tries to make conversation.

"I think it's cute how you slept next to your brother last night, says Jesse, trying to sound perky instead of nervous. Her statement causes Alex to spew his hot coffee everywhere. "Oh!" exclaims Jesse patting Alex's back. "Goodness you have coffee all over you."

Smiling slyly Jesse picks up a napkin and begins patting Alex's shirt dry. As she reaches down to dry his pants Alex grabs her wrist. "Please don't” stutters Alex moving her hand away.

"Oh, such a gentleman," Jesse says smiling with a wink.

"I, uh, should get back to Anthony," replies a somewhat freaked Alex, standing up.

"Yeah you probably should," sighs Jesse.

"I think I know the way back from here..."

"Don't be silly!" exclaims Jesse, "I'll walk back with you".

"Uh, you really don't need to..."stutters Alex

"I want to," replies Jesse firmly taking Alex's hand.

"Um no offense meant but are you seriously going to hit on me?" asks Alex trying to pull his hand away.

"What's wrong?" ask Jesse stupidly. "Do you have a girlfriend?"

"No...I don't..."

"Then what is wrong with me hitting on you?" demands Jesse cutting Alex's reply short.

"Well the thing is, I'm not interested, I'm sorry."

"But why?! Am I not pretty enough for you?"

"That is so far from the truth!"

"Then what the hell is wrong with me?"

"Nothing!" exclaims Alex, shaking Jesse by the shoulders. "I'm gay!"

"You're kidding, right?" asks a bewildered Jesse

"No, I'm not; Anthony is the love of my life.

I owe everything to him." replies Alex in earnest. "Now please can I get back to him?" Not waiting for an answer Alex turns and walks away, headed towards Anthony's room.

Walking into the hospital room Alex finds a man and a woman standing on either side of Anthony's bed.

"There he is now," says Anthony, causing the couple to turn towards the door Alex had just walked through.

"Uh Hi?" stutters Alex, not sure what to say.

Laughing Anthony makes the introductions. "Mom, Dad, this is Alexander Shade; Alex, this is my mom and dad, Rebecca and Jacob Day.

"It's nice to finally meet you Mr. and Mrs. Day. I'm sorry it is under such circumstances." Replies Alex shaking Jacob's hand; he receives a hug from Rebecca.

"Don't be silly dear, Tony here told us what happened. We are so very glad to meet you." Smiles Rebecca, "and please, call me Rebecca or mom whichever is more comfortable for you."

"Same with me son, only instead of Jacob call me Jake," says Anthony's dad. Turning to Anthony he says "well son, you and Alex will have to have dinner with us when you get out of this place".

"Will do dad," smiles Tony glancing at Alex with love.

"You guys aren't leaving already are you?" asks Alex

"Yes dear, we just stopped by to make sure Tony was okay," replies Rebecca.

"Stopped by my butt, you guys drove all the way from Reno, Nevada.

"Oh alright, you got me, I wanted to meet the mystery man you wouldn't stop talking about."

"Uh huh, I love you guys, but please you can go home now. I'm fine and I promise; I will bring Alex home when I get out of this Hell-Hole."

"Alright Rebecca, let's go," Jake says heading for the door.

"Love you dears," smiles Rebecca, following her husband out the door.

Shutting the door, Alex walks over to Anthony's bed. "So you never stopped talking about me huh?"

Laughing Anthony replies, "my mom exaggerates."

"Uh huh, yeah right," laughs Alex,” I think you couldn't get me off your mind."

"Don't let it go to your head, Mr. Ego".

"I won't my dear Tony," teases Alex.

"Alright you win. I couldn't get you off my mind," relents Anthony. "I couldn't stop thinking about you from the second I bumped into you that day at Starbucks."

"I'll admit; you were never far from my thoughts." Confesses Alex tilting his head, his hair falling in his face.

"God," breaths Anthony, "you're amazing".

"So are you babe."

"Get your sexy a*s over here," sighs Anthony, grabbing a handful of Alex's silky black hair and gently pulling his face down, kissing his lips.

"We need to stop babe," breaths Alex three minutes later.

"Why?" Asks Anthony breaking the kiss.

"First reason is you had surgery yesterday, second we could totally be walked in on."

"I'm fine and I don't care," replies Anthony, kissing Alex again.

Unable to continue his argument on account of the passion overwhelming his senses, Alex relents and kisses Anthony back.

Moaning, Anthony grabs the end of Alex's shirt, pulling it off. Turning to drape his legs over the side of the bed he pulls Alex into his arms, sliding his hands down Alex's back ending on his a*s.

Kissing and biting each other they do not hear the knock on the door. Oblivious to everything but each other they still do not register the fact that Jesse, the blonde nurse, has opened the door.

Walking into the room Jesse's mind doesn't register the scene before her. She stares, he jaw slack from shock.

Sensing another person in the room Anthony breaks the molten hot kiss to peer behind Alex. Spotting Jesse he asks "enjoying the show?"

"He wasn't lying..." replies Jesse stupidly.

Not understanding Jesse's statement Anthony responds "do you have a problem with us being a couple?"

Not giving Jesse a chance to answer, Alex explains what she meant.

"Hun, she was hitting on me and I told her I was gay. She thought I was just trying to be nice by lying."

"Oh, well no, he wasn't lying. We love each other." agrees Anthony.

"I, I'm sorry. I'll uh leave you two alone," stammers Jesse before fleeing out the door.

"Now where were we?" asks Anthony seductively, leaning in to kiss Alex.

Wrapping his arms around Anthony's neck, Alex replies, "We were going to stop before we go too far and you get hurt. You can ask Dr. Blackhawk when it will be safe to go all the way."

Anthony starts to argue but Alex cuts him off with a light kiss. "Now get back in bed."
