The Slowly Wilting Rose

The Slowly Wilting Rose

A Poem by Sanity
"

A poem I wrote for a friend fallen on some hard times.

"
The girl sits in torment

Yet no bottle will ease her pain

As she turns, watching the world burn

Eyes blurred by the tears of overwhelming dismay

Lovers turn to glass in her arms

Shattered to dust and blown away

So she tries to sell her soul

To any man willing to pay

Pain torture ecstasy

Is only what she knows

Yet by the love of another

Is the only way

A flower will truly grow

So take solace in my lamination

My slowly wilting rose

Fade by the darkness

Or find the light...

You have never truly known

~For the wayward Juliet

"Lovers turn to glass in her arms" was my favorite line, I just had this awesome image of that, of someone really turning to glass in my arms.

Love is always tough. I can feel every thought and emotion portrayed in this piece. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. Excellent piece of writing.
