The Pain Left Behind

Time will heal all wounds...

This hatred seeps into my soul

your actions have finally taken there toll

I loved you, I trusted you, I believed in you

I am such a fool

Nothing more than your semi-useful tool

You shot an arrow through my heart

Then agonizingly proceeded to rip it apart

love lost right from the start 

My heart will try to mend 

But many scars did you rend

Now I am conflicted with self doubt

It makes me want to scream and shout

But the pain chokes back my voice

Did I ever really even have a choice 

Or was I blinded from the truth

All I could see was your brilliance

Fortifying and toughening my resilience

To you my heart was bound

But where love will grow....

Sanity is never found

I guess it just goes to show....

That you really do reap what you sew

And what we had has withered

I loved you, I trusted you….

But I don't know if I can believe anymore

Not after all you had done

I used to spread my wings and kiss the sun

But now you've brought me crashing down

And as the pain chokes back my voice....

Upon these feelings I shall drown
