Final Rain

Final Rain

A Poem by Sanity
"

Wrote this awhile ago, when sitting out alone in the park on a rainy day. A poem about ageing and memories past

"
As the rain washes over me

I look around

At this humble place

This humble town

So many memories fade away

As my eyes grow dull and start to decay

A love

A loss

To love again

As the rain washes over me

I look around and smile

Wishing just to stay, for a little while

water rises

water falls

Will I ever see it again at all

As the wind whispers among the trees

I ask the reaper, please

Leave me, so I may see her just one more time

He smiles, eyes so kind

As eternity enfolds me

I whisper her name

As death's dark shroud claims me

.....I fade away

Wishing for death to be with a love that has crossed over death's threshold. And having that wish granted.
An eerie and darkly romantic piece done exquisitly!
