Silver MoonbeamsA Poem by Jenna ErwinThe river runs deep and deeper yet. Can anyone see the currents beneath? For it rushes through the veins coursing and churning below, A shallow pool that breaks and cracks when each weapon of words cuts through. But silver moonbeams cut deeper still. The sharp rays marking for the world's view. The river bursts forth with life, and yet the world sees nothing but marks, useless points of a shattered heart. till the river dries completely; Void of any currents, veins, or pools. Lifeless, except for the lasting marks Of a silver moonbeam and a broken heart. © 2008 Jenna Erwin |
