How To Suffer, Alone.

How To Suffer, Alone.

A Poem by E. Greene

Gloomy under the silken overhang of discontent.
With flushed cheeks, licking your teeth as you taste the
Coppery air, scraping your tongue.
Naked, the chill of grief brushes the skin
Tingling the apathy in it's pores,
oh, how cold.

The tapping of your ever-quivering fingers,
Flesh upon metal, painful rhythm beating,
The melancholy chime of your soul.
The weeping echo reverberates,
A resonant dirge that dies upon ears,
Never to be heard.

Pupils dilating in woeful agony,
A silent release of bittern
ess,
Indigo waters rushing forth,
Salty streams, traversing the lines of your face,
The convergence of misery, pooling together,
Drowning your lips.
