Blessed With The Presence Of Another.

Blessed With The Presence Of Another.

A Poem by E. Greene

There's a pang of weakness
Standing alone
Not by myself
But alone

Given to one's self
Tethered by one's self
Beaten by one's self
Crippled by one's self

You were an intruder
But I forgive you
You were an outsider
But I embrace you

Forced upon me
You clasped my arm
And fed my veins
With your color

Head split open
Exposing an ego
Dirty to the world
Washed to the brain

Bestowed with a gift
An understanding of two
