Harp song for the ladyA Poem by Sangria GreenIn the time of war and strife we were losing the light in our eyes We were denying the truth of a life filled with the pain of ruthlessness unheeded then out of the controlled emptiness which they were filling our hearts with came a lady to hold us in her arms at night, singing tales of a might that walked the shore with determination and brought a place called home to our mind told us do not pine For the past lifetime of crimes that were not our own not to sulk in retaliation of the blood spilt like wine in the pictures she drew but to find our own view of the world and the knowledge that perfect was impossible out of the beatings and blame came a mother to hold us a night and lead us into day as the world around us ran itself into decay told us in order to fight we must compensate Not follow orders lost in their ways but to take our time in order to make a better day To return the light in our eyes and regain our emotions and birthrights We will fight we will fight against those beings who would watch the world burn just to have the turn of being right she lead us to a victory she brought us home and made us free she taught us words and how to feel she showed us dreams and what was real she caught our arms and said to us ‘fight’ she made us decide the wrong and right yet when the war flags lagged in sight we stood on our own and fought with destiny but by the betrayal of society we have still lost our dear lady
