Darkened Corner

Darkened Corner

A Poem by Sangria Green

He called me out

He found me

And asked me words I never heard before

I see through my dreams now

No reason for my vision to be clouded now

For I am not alone anymore

I have found a darkened corner where I can say my final goodbyes

With out regrets I can look toward the past and watch all I leave behind

I’ll watch the sun and wait for cover

As the rain falls to these enlightened eyes

I have found some one who I can follow till the rain stops

And world stops croaking lies;

I have found someone who will stay with me against the onset of

The laughing peoples ignorant eyes.

I have found a book with words that tell me things

That I’ve been searching for in a voice that answers all my whys

The masquerade ends with him I find

And now I can not think of a reason to hide.

I’ll sit with him

In our darkened corner

Wrapped in his arms of warmth

I’ll speak with him

In our hidden language

As we talk about the earth

I see through my dreams now

No reason for my vision to be clouded now

For I am not alone anymore

I have found a darkened corner where I can say my final goodbyes

With out regrets I can look toward the past and watch all I leave behind

I’ll watch the sun and wait for cover

As the rain falls to these enlightened eyes

I have found some one who I can follow till the rain stops

And world stops croaking lies;

I have found someone who will know me against the light

Of a pretty smile

And I know he will hold me against the fatalities of the world

The masquerade ends with him I find

And now I can not think of a reason to hide

Hey now I know when I say my final goodbye

I’ll have been happy

I’ll have been happy

When I saw him smile I was amazed for awhile wonder’n how could I have been such a child as not to see

how much a life could mean to me

and even faced with every difficulty

that someone would stand by me

in this world of cold realities

but in a darkened corner

there’s the warmth

in the lighter of someone

stranger than strange

with who I could watch the raindrops

and dream of great tomorrows

I could say goodbye

The masquerade ends with him I find

I see through my dreams now

No reason for my vision to be clouded now

For I am not alone anymore

I have found a darkened corner where I can say my final goodbyes

With out regrets I can look toward the past and watch all I leave behind

I’ll watch the sun and wait for cover

As the rain falls to these enlightened eyes

I have found some one who I can follow till the rain stops

And world stops croaking lies;

I have found someone who will-

I have found someone who

I have found some one

I know I will be happy.
