When You Loved Me

When You Loved Me

A Poem by poetforlife

Every breath was right, no more painful lonely nights

All I was to be in spite, when you loved me....

Singing love's sweet song, nothing could go wrong

Every tear was gone, when you loved me....

Hopes for future bright, a butterfly so light

Never more to cry, when you loved me....

Soaring on a breeze, feelings came with ease

You were all that I could see, when you loved me....

Watched you walk away, broken everyday

Plead for mercy as I pray for when you loved me....

Broken promise seals the deal, mistaken you were real

Long for how I feel, when you loved me....

Heartbeat can't go on, how could I be so wrong

For the days, how I long, when you loved me....

I am sorry for your pain my friend, heartache seems to be plentiful these days for lovers who dare to love with all their hearts.

you spoke your heartbreak so we could see and feel the anguish you feel and know the heartbreak you have found in each line we read.

so sad, this life a lover leads, for in the end their heart doth bleed
spilling forth the life the once knew.

just know, this too shall pass my friend.

love you.

Oh, I agree with Rock And Roll Cowboy....this would make a terrific ballad, but so sad, as many love ballads are! Heartache pangs the heart!!
Broken promise seals the deal......that's a good line!!

Your sadness in this poem runs so deep. The poem pulls the reader to the cemetary of your dispare with no words to offer of condolence. A quiet hug for my friend.

Wow wonderfully powerful and melancholy... I could see this set to music as a power ballad sung by Faith Hill... Fabulous despite the heartbreak of it.
