Symphony of The HeartA Poem by poetforlife
What can I say to you,
now that you’re gone
Your ears, they won’t hear me,
no music to my song
you were here for a little while
the symphony so loud
Just two voices in the choir
Heard above the crowd.
Then one by one you took them
The trumpet, strings and harp
The music slowly faded
Like the slow beat of my heart.
Nothing left to listen
But the sad sound of one voice
Echoing regret and loss
And paying for your choice.
Decisions took for granted
Another chance may come
There’s no more time to start again
Your only chance, this one.
So now I hold the music
To start a brand new song
I can’t play the song you chose
The music was all wrong.
I’ll jot the notes on paper
And make a clean, fresh start
Someone else will play my song
And hear the music of my heart.
