Tears

I sit here tonight crying tears of relief

knowing that I'm leaving, I'll finally be free

I sit her tonight crying tears of dispair

knowing that I'll never know again if you care

I sit here tonight crying tears of regret

wondering if I will ever live to forget

I sit here tonight crying tears of confusion

how did I get to this place of dissillusion

I sit here tonight crying tears of pain

hoping that through it all, myself I'll regain

I sit here tonight crying all the hurt away

hoping I will live to love another day

I sit here tonight crying all alone

knowing that soon, you and I will be gone

I sit here tonight crying tears of hope

where this road will lead me, I cannot know

I sit here tonight crying tears of relief

knowing that I'm leaving, I will finally be free.

The path to heal may be slow and hard and you feel that time is not your friend. I felt the same way about time and it wasn't until I looked back that I saw time had moved on. It moved me further away from the pain and I realized that time was not friend or foe it was just time and in not stopping it allowed me to heal.

Breakups are hard and leave many emotions like relief and even sadness of letting go even though you should and of coarse the confusion of trying to find who you are by yourself, something we always lose in a long term relationship. Wonderful expression of all those feelings you are going through.
