I really like this, simple and sweet and the "you were the special one
loving you made me look smart" is so genuine.

Just my thoughts here - take or leave- I was expecting the last line to rhyme because of the other rhymes. I love the words, but am wondering if you couldn't rearrange them to create the rhyme. It's already there, just not where expected - that may be your point though. Sweet, but not sappy. :)
