NaunetA Poem by Alexandria ReeceWritten on the 11th of May, 2022.When time and space met face to face, For the first time, steeped aeons ago, The Thebans say that chaos came to a mirror, Forming, spinning, birthing a sigh over our small pool, The galaxies, without watch, yawned aside us, And from Nu rose the laughter of Amun, Forming in spaces new, a splendorous conflation, A name I now know, Creator, deeper than the fields of Ausir, Higher than Khepri can beat his wings, More widespread than Aether and all of her kin, All placed forth to give life in these fleshy bonds, Wills and wonderment, love and decision, And I glow with a star’s warmth, knowing the love I’ve incurred, And the ribbons betwixt I have yet to tie, A small rodent in the kitchen of a dwelling, Whose threshold I have yet to cross, A tree on a precipice, an exuberant child, A man’s hand in mine, whose name I know not yet, A woman’s kind words, which will lead me, To scrawling more uncanny verses, Perhaps useless words, but then, what is a moment worth if not cherished? And is there not consummation in consorting with these deep breaths? Putting line to page, thought to ink? Our sensational vibrations, the music of our existence, As from Naunet was summoned a laugh.
