The Book of the Dead

The Book of the Dead

A Poem by Rose Moon
"

Thoughts of immortality

"

When I stand in that great hall of justice,

when my deeds in life are weighed...

against the feather of truth

by Anubis.

Will I tremble in fear

or stand tall

          and straight

confident of the outcome?

Tehuty will record on a scroll

... he alone judges my fate.

How well does my established truth

sit against the powers of evil?

Does my book of deeds...

a texbook of my life,

         my spirituality

measure up against the book of truth?

I have lived several lives in different places

between each life is a veil of shadows.

When new doors open I shall see

where my feet have trodden.

Have I embraced life with truth,

sowing the seeds of eternity

          to live again

in death?
