Seduction

Seduction

A Poem by Rose Moon
"

A Siren's aria of unconditional love and destruction.

"

Listen to my Siren song, a haunting lullaby,

a twirling snare of irrestiible sorrow and doom.

A fatal attraction. An aria of grief to hurl your emotions

leaping and rising with the waves to pierce the salty air...

then break in a crescendo of frothy bubbles

at your feet.

You will kneel in supplication begging for love.

I wait on shale rock under dark weeping mangroves

and the quarter moon that weeps limpid tears of

mellow light in half shadows.

A crown of coral, ebony hair whipped around shoulders

to frame a dangerously alluring face...the Goddess

with emerald eyes that flash in the night

like a beacon. Come, drink my beauty

caress my alabaster skin and feel the power of desire.

Kiss my purple mouth and feel the sting of salt

like a salve upon your cracked lips.

Forget your seafaring life, the deeds of the past

become nightmares for the living.

I will speak your name and guide you

through the darkness of time to the light

of my murky world of green.

Your heart is mine; I will keep it in a pearl box

sealed with a sacred spell.

Kisses console and cajole but

I warn you, love only me for

I am your Goddess your one true love.

Precious jade, pearls and gold preserve you

forever in my emerald kingdom.

A mariners bone yard, awaits those who dare

to resist.

Beware my syrupy web of black dreams

and my wrath should you fail me.

Jealous and fickle,

my lips twist and snarl

as I crush your lying heart and watch you die.

Love me always

and I will make you forget

that you were once a man.

I cannot single out any particular part of this poem as a favourite, as every line is perfection.
This poem reaches all of the senses quite effectively, and would both entice and haunt any seafaring man....

Note to Captain Blackheart: Carry your lyre or tie yourself to your ship's mast before reading this!

This one is going into my favourites. Good luck to you in the competition :-)
