Chapter 3: When the balance is lost.

Chapter 3: When the balance is lost.

A Chapter by Sandra Nair

I am back with more to write. Yes, each day abundant things happen in India and I am fed up. The peaceful environment of India and its secularism made the country a heaven. But now should I name it a Hindu State. What is all the mess?

People cannot eat beef? They justify that cow is a holy animal and so we are not supposed to consume them. Then, what about goats and hens? Aren't they poor creatures? It is as if men simply want to create conflicts and destroy the discipline of India.

I haven't heard of anything from the Prime Minister, even. His Twitter posts are not enough. It's time the ministry reacts strongly to create a difference. How many people are killed brutally on the grounds that they ate cow meat? The constitution says that the government must ensure the security of each and every citizen of India. But, how many lost their lives?

Writers like Govind Pansare, M.M Kalburgi and Narendra Dabholkar had unusual deaths. Why and how? Did they kill anyone? Did they harm anyone? No, they did not. It is only because of the pathetic reason that they spoke up their minds that they were 'killed'. Right to Speech and Expression has become a waste chapter of a dusty book, the Constitution of India!

Recently, much exploitation of children also took place. Girls who were happily living were suddenly taken away and molested. Girls in the sense, girls below the age of five, even. It is insane! Are girls, toys in the hands of men? Are we kept for sale? Are we not human beings? Are women created for fun? Are women only a reason of beauty? I think people have mistaken our creation as such. In Ramayana, the epic we find Monarchs ordering to elaborate their ceremonies by making 'beautiful' women stand hither and thither. And the worst thing is that, many women have got along with that and stopped dreaming of a change! There are less girls who work for a change (Big Salute to Malala Yousafzai and Rekha Kalindi, irreparable teenagers).

Problems increase on one side as we find solutions from the other. World will be filled with positives and negatives. But both must remain balanced. But now I think the evils weigh more! Questions are many...but the solution is only one....
