Chapter 2: Indians are Mad!

Chapter 2: Indians are Mad!

A Chapter by Sandra Nair

Indians are Mad!

Oh! What was today’s news? Yes, a fourteen year old girl who was traveling in a bus was attacked. When her mother tried to resist, she was also hurt. The girl hopelessly jumped out of the bus as she had no other way and she was dead.

Today we are in a situation where we have to jump out of the world, itself! I feel as if a huge luggage is right over my head and I am lifting it on my own. That shows the painful weight of depression within my heart. When children of my age are molested and killed, I’m able to learn, play, eat and even able to write about these things. How pity!

In our country, women are not given the freedom to walk out, late night. People fear that men might attack us. To such people who think like this: In a zoo we find wild animals inside the cages and we watch them from outside. It is not that we, the silly people are locked in and the animals watch us from outside. Similarly, it is not women who cause all these problems and therefore they must be set free. Lock up the ones who have to be!

‘India’s daughter’ a documentary produced by BBC was banned in India on the grounds that it conveyed something bad about India. When India has demerits it must be brought into light. We all want to watch the documentary. (Even though many watched it via you tube).

India’s daughter is based on the true story of a young lady who along with her relative went to watch a movie and as she returned she was trapped in a bus. Thus, rapped by a few men. On the documentary, we can see the driver (the accused man) saying very easily that she would not have been hurt if she would have allowed them to rape her. How stupid! Okay, he is a driver who is uneducated and therefore let us excludes him. But still, what about the lawyer who told that if his daughter had dared to love someone, she would be burned before everyone? Truly I believe, the world is sick " sick of ‘Social Cancer’ which spreads rapidly to all the others (but ne’er to me).

Once Jesus said these words and now it has to be said by all the women, ‘Forgive them for they do not know what they are doing.’

Hey Sandra,

Yes the whole environment across the world is under threat of some or the other kind.
But then there is not one but many reasons at the psychological, economical, social, political levels leading to such atrocities on women. One has to be brave and aware to fight such evils.

Keep writing! All the best!

"When India has demerits "
"India" really?
I liked it. But, its not India. It's Indian citizens.
Women are raped by Indian men. Good one. Not by India. India has no demerits. People make it hell here!
Try to blame individuals. Your thoughts are good and pure. Good luck.
